Yeas there was a system (web page) called "mf/tin :: Target Assembler", 
it talked about he underlying
compiler for DragonBASIC, a gameboy advance language. It was forth, with 
a optimization algo. using
two tokens at a time, the page is dead, perhaps alittle googling, or 
maybe the author is on this list...
not really colorofrth, but great.

I woudl love to program ARMs in Forth... they're backward-compatible and 
everywhere!!!!
