VNC is an open industry standard. Google for "Remote Framebuffer Protocol".

VNC is a virtual frame buffer that is communicated over the network. The
protocol is designed to update only those segments of the framebuffer that have
changed since the last client update. The compression it uses is pretty basic
and simple, but is expandable provided both the server and the client know
about their respective compression methods.

Any Windows or X11 version of ColorForth will run under VNC.
