Re: [colorforth] Seeing the Vesa mode on start-up/changeing same.

Even if you don't have a FORTHdrive, the simulator runs the demos just fine, either by commenting out the lines with the

	 find-drive /USBdrive [x]>USBdrive close-drive

words or ignoring the compiler error they produce. Typing SIM starts the simulator. Holding the space bar down steps it--read the docs for more options.

I should have also mentioned that it's free. You don't need to buy
SwiftForth to use it. VentureForth is a SwiftForth turnkey and there
are both Windows and Linux versions available, for free, on the
IntellaSys website.

This includes compiler and simulator for the s24 FORTHdrive, the s24
datasheet, and the VentureForth Programmer's Manual, by Elizabeth
Rather and the staff of IntellaSys. I suggest you all take a look.

By the way, I don't think I've mentioned, I'm on the staff of
IntellaSys now, and had a small part in producing some of the
software and documentation.
