Digested version of the list

The first day of the life of the list was marked by a storm of messages --
more than 30. 

This may be to the best taste of some members, and in the nightmares of
others. To try to resolve the issue, I created a digested verison of the
list, which will be distributed no more frequently than once a day. 

To enjoy the low interrupt overhead and better utilization of resources in
burst mode, send 'unsubscribe' to MISC-request@pisa.rockefeller.edu and
'subscribe' to MISC-d-request@pisa.rockefeller.edu . To post to the list, do
as usual -- to MISC@pisa.rockefeller.edu

For the rest, who enjoy low latencies, do nothing.
