I second that!  I am in Chicago, and the only service I have been able
to perform for this community is running a web-browsable MISC mailing
list archive.  The archive is browsable at:

   http://eli.wariat.org/miscarc/index.html

It updates automatically every hour on the hour if any traffic was
posted to the list during the past hour.  I hope to have a local
serarch engine running on it before summer gets here, but I am pretty
busy right now -- I left the house at 7:30 this morning and only got
home at 12:30 after midnight tonight.
