About a hackers/developers platform:
A kit for development on a standard wintel/PC would defenitely be interesting,
but don't forget that there is nothing for softwareavalibitity on a platform,
as developmenttools for the platform itself (yes, it would be tedious to edit
code on a standard TV, but suport for a VGA-like monitor shouldn't be
impossible). As an example, look at the Amiga-community: There haven't been
any support since '91 or so, but activity is still high. This is solely
because of all 'hobby'-developers out there.
