                  Sharp says breakthrough
                  allows paper-thin PC

                  TOKYO (Reuters) - Japanese electronics firm Sharp
                  Corp. and Semiconductor Energy Laboratory Co.
                  said Tuesday they had developed liquid crystal
                  display (LCD) technology that will make possible
                  the development of paper-thin computers.

                  The technology, called continuous grain silicon
                  (CGS), would allow the development of a large
                  glass panel that incorporates both chips, such as
                  LCD drivers and thin-film-transistor LCD displays,
                  Sharp said.
