This sounds good, I also liked the T-shirt idea.

As far as working contributions go (e.g. if I were to design /
produce copper for evaluation / prototyping kits), then the Open
Source style of gift economy would work for me:  any beefs would be
publicly aired, and truly jerky or exploitive behaviour would quickly
result in a bad reputation -- NOT a good way to get ahead in this
situation (such tactics can remain in MicroSoft's purview).
